I'm off to the beautiful state of Virginia for 4th of July weekend! Hoping to get to the airport on time and in one piece this time! Last time I flew there was a terrible wreck on the interstate and I sat in traffic for an hour, finally I turned around and barely made it to the Atlanta airport on time. I'm telling you, that is the worst feeling! I was parked, through security and on my plane in 20 minutes flat. I ran the whole length of the Atlanta airport. You'll be surprised how quickly you can get somewhere when you're really motivated! Happy 4th everyone! Eat lots of watermelon and hotdogs!!

I picked up a hitch hiker! This crazy bug rode all the way home on my windshield.

I found this cutie for a quarter at the thrift store today.

What a wonderful Saturday, what started out as a day running errands turned into a day of leisure. I got up early to get my car worked on, but it ended up taking much less time than expected so I went thrift shopping and to the mall. The sky was cloudy and foggy this morning and I was pleasantly surprised to see clear skies and sunshine when I left the mall. I found myself organizing my closet when I got home and making peach cobbler (which was gobbled up before I could even document it...sweets never stay around long at our house!). Hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday!

My week in pictures...

I woke up at 7 a.m. on Sunday to watch the sun rise on my 25th birthday...holy moly...I'm getting old. I was sad to leave 24 behind, but if 25 is half as good as 24 was...I have a whole lot to look forward to.

These lemons are the result of a failed attempt to do the "master cleanse". I made a valiant effort, but it is so hard to not eat! I quickly discovered that fasting is not for those that have blood sugar problems. Now I need recipes calling for lemons (and lots of them) or a lemonade stand...one of the two.

These were actually last week, but my sweet boyfriend sent me roses for my birthday...14 of them to be exact! I love them!

Last, but not least, I'm seeing more flowers than weeds in my garden! Cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, and bachelor's buttons to name a few. Also, lemon basil, mint and rosemary. I'm pretty excited!

Have a great weekend everyone!

So I've been M.I.A for over a month now! If my blog were a garden it would be covered with weeds and thorns and who knows what else! June is always the busiest month, summer is here, birthdays (in my family it's a very busy birthday month!) and just life in general. The days are longer so I feel like I need to stuff as much as I possibly can into each day. I have been working on a website lately though that I wanted to share. Most of the pictures are repeats of what I've posted on here, so hopefully you won't mind! Enjoy and don't forget to sign my guest book please.

I'm not usually a big fan of black and white pictures (unless they're of the vintage sort), but sometimes a single focal point has more impact void of color. What do you think? Here's a few before and after pictures. Hope you're having a great Sunday!

These peonies were so breathtaking and fragrant! I love these big floppy flowers!

I loved this little chipmunk! He was so sweet with his little hands folded in front of him.

It has been a while since I've had the time/creative energy to get out and take pictures lately, but today I made time to do it! I love being behind a camera! For me there's something special about focusing on the beauty of the small things and details rather than the big picture.

My heart is so heavy today knowing that there are so many in our area here in North Georgia that have lost loved ones and homes. The town of Ringgold, Georgia where I work was completely demolished by a tornado last night. My home was not touched by the storms, but I know of so many that are without electricity, water and their belongings. The American Red Cross is taking donations and I am going to volunteer as soon as they start accepting volunteers for the area. Please be safe out there! Life is so fragile and can be taken in the blink of an eye.
